This position is part-time employed through Sheppard Pratt Solutions on behalf of Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). Sheppard Pratt partners with health systems nationwide to deliver high-quality acute psychiatric care in local communities.
What to expect:
Based in GBMC’s Emergency Department, this role offers a unique opportunity to provide urgent psychiatric evaluation, stabilization, and treatment to patients in crisis. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in this setting play a vital role in delivering timely, patient-centered care while working closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and appropriate next steps for each patient.
Specific responsibilities include:

Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including risk and diagnostic assessments.

Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for patients in acute distress.

Prescribe and manage medications using evidence-based practices.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.

Facilitate referrals and transitions to appropriate inpatient or community-based services.

Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.

Support quality improvement initiatives and serve as a resource to ED staff.

What we need from you:
Required:
-
Current, unrestricted Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland with active Controlled Substances Registration and valid DEA Certificate.

Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Preferred Experience:
-
Minimum of two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in acute psychiatric settings, ideally in an Emergency Department or consultation-liaison psychiatry.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in high-acuity environments.

Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and resilience in managing a fast-paced, diverse caseload.
The pay range for this part-time position is $87,360 minimum to $101,088 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience.
