Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 

  • Obtain patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsel  and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Responsibilities span prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research—including genetic risk assessment and counseling. The APP may serve as a direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Key Responsibilities General Oncology & APP Duties Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology and hereditary risk patients.
