We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year in the Goleta, CA area. This school-based position supports students with specialized medical needs in an educational setting, helping ensure they receive safe, high-quality care throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to students, including but not limited to tracheostomy care, G-tube feedings, and toileting assistance
Monitor students’ medical conditions and respond to health emergencies appropriately
Collaborate with educators, school staff, and parents to support student health plans
Document care provided and maintain accurate student health records
Ride the school bus with assigned students as needed, ensuring continuity of care during transportation (preferred)

Qualifications:

Active and valid California LVN license (required)
Current CPR certification (required)
Experience with tracheostomies, G-tubes, and toileting support (preferred)
Pediatric or school nursing experience is a plus
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Schedule:

Follows the 2025–2026 school calendar

JOB TITLE : LVN Job Summary: The Pre-Operative/Post-Operative Licensed Vocational Nurse, under the supervision of the Registered Nurses, PACU Manager or the Director of Nursing , according to the organizational structure, is responsible for providing peri-operative patient care in accordance with their scope of practice and sound nursing judgment, regulatory and accreditation standards, and the facility's mission, vision, and values. The position must provide direct and indirect patient care across the age continuum; and utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to policies and procedures of the facility. Duties and Responsibilities: As a licensed vocational nurse, shows appropriate and effective patient care in supervising ancillary personnel in the pre-operative/post-operative clinical areas according to accepted standards. Participates in service recovery by taking ownership of the situation and correcting problems. Keeps customers informed of progress related to clinical operations and provides comfort, information and assistance during the process. Reviews daily schedule and prepares patient care areas based upon types of procedures and specific patient care needs. Completes and documents a pre-operative interview , obtains necessary diagnostic test results and notifies appropriate physicians and staff regarding variances and/or concerns. Completes and documents post-operative phone calls and reports problems and/or concerns. Assists registered nurses in the Post - anesthesia area and assures all patients have met the discharge criteria prior to discharge; and provides all patients post-operative instructions. Qualifications: Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S. Graduate of approved an LVN accredited school of nursing with current and valid license. Minimum of two years of general nursing experience required. . Knowledge of State, Federal and Accrediting Body regulations and standards related to healthcare. Current CPR certification. Ability to relate and work effectively with others Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
