Harborview Medical Center Pioneer Square Downtown Programs Catholic Community Services Junction Point homeless shelter has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time Registered Nurse (RN).
WORK SCHEDULE
- 50% FTE, 20 hours/weekly

Department Description
The Pioneer Square Downtown Programs focus on Harborview's mission population to address health equity issues by increasing access to care in our unique primary care settings, homeless shelters, housing programs or community settings for unhoused and vulnerably housed people. The Pioneer Square Downtown Programs Field Based team embeds providers, RNs and mental health practitioners throughout sites from South Seattle to North Seattle including homeless shelters and low-income supportive housing units. Our team includes two outreach teams (Vital and Homeless Palliative care) as well as providers at the Needle Exchange and a mental health center downtown.

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the shelter staff to identify residents that would benefit from medical services
- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, coordinate and provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to patients/families
- Make independent decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient problems and situations
- This position will be primarily sited in Junction Point pallet shelter (https://ccsww.org/junction-point-shelter-opens-expansion-with-40-new-beds/) but may require some time working in one of the other sites in the Pioneer Square Downtown Programs
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
- At least two years of experience working as an RN
- Must be skilled at providing care for unhoused/vulnerably housed people with comorbid conditions including behavioral health disorders, substance abuse disorder, and complex physical health conditions
- Good working knowledge of Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing
