We are looking for a per diem neonatal nurse practitioner to join our talented and dedicated team at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coverage includes a 82-bed, Level-III NICU
  • Team of nine neonatologists and eight full-time neonatal nurse practitioners
  • Memorial is now part of the national HCA family of hospitals and is proud to be the main regional referral center for coastal Georgia
  • Residents rotate through the NICU and there is full pediatric sub-specialty support 

 

Qualifications

  • GA license required
  • Certified NNP with recent experience required
  • Must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing

Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary Under the general direction of the Center for Medication Management Clinic Manager, provide advanced education and care to patients receiving anticoagulant therapy, hyperlipidemia management, and diabetic education. Responsible for working with physicians within the predefined guidelines approved by the P&T Committee for management of patients referred for anticoagulation therapy, hyperlipidemia management, and diabetic education. This includes but is not limited to the following medications warfarin (Coumadin), low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), aspirin, simvastatin (Zocor), lovastatin (Altoprev, Mevacor), rosuvastatin (Crestor), fluvastatin (Lescol), atorvastatin (Lipitor), pitavastatin (Livalo), and pravastatin (Pravachol). Other medications include bile acid resins: cholestyramine, colestipol, colesevelam, and the antilipemic agent: eztimibe (Zetia). Niacin, Fish oil, and fibric acid derivatives: Fenofibrate, gemfibrozil, and fenofibric acid are several other medications. The nurse practitioner is responsible directly for the warfarin (Coumadin) dosing, patient education, scheduling of appointments, identifying drug-drug interactions and other responsibilities related to issues that arise in the management of patients’ warfarin (Coumadin) therapy, such as bleeding and scheduled procedures. The nurse practitioner is also responsible for managing a patient’s basic or advanced lipid profile by medication management and lifestyle modification.
