Overview:
In accordance with professional standards of care and adhering to the corporate philosophy of OSF Medical Group (OSFMG), the Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant is responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality, outpatient wound care services for patients with acute, chronic, post-surgical, diabetic, venous, pressure, traumatic, and other complex wounds.
- Working collaboratively with wound care physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary team members to evaluate, manage, and treat a variety of complex wounds using evidence-based practices, advanced therapies, and appropriate procedural interventions.
- Comprehensive assessments, development of individualized treatment plans, patient and family education, coordination of care, and ongoing management to promote healing, prevent complications, and optimize patient outcomes.
- Perform wound care procedures such as sharp debridement, application of advanced dressings, compression therapy, and management of biologic/adjunctive therapies.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, vascular assessments, and cultures.
- Prescribe medications, wound care treatments, and durable medical equipment as appropriate.
- Participate in clinic quality improvement initiatives and contribute to documentation accuracy, workflow efficiency, and best practice implementation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987.
- Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient-centered focus.
- Prior experience in wound care, dermatology, vascular surgery, or related clinical specialty is preferred but new graduates will be considered.

- Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $$55.20 – $63.65. This is an hourly position.
- Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.
