About our Clinical Nurse position
The Clinical Nurse provides both direct patient care and patient care coordination. In collaboration with advanced practice clinicians, physicians, anesthesia staff, and health center leadership, the clinical nurse will support the delivery of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, including abortion care. Responsibilities include pre-procedural health screening and sedation risk assessment, management of pre and post procedure recovery room, monitoring patients before, during, and after sedation, administering medications under the direction of licensed staff, and directly assisting in abortion procedures to ensure safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.
What will you be doing!
- Assessing medical history and appropriateness for out-patient care
- Assessing sedation and anesthesia risk
- Caring coordination for patients requiring pre-procedure planning
- Assisting physician or advanced practice clinician in procedure room as necessary
- Observing take vital signs and record patient's condition in pre[1]operative/procedure/recovery room
- Administer medications according to standing orders and/or in collaboration with licensed
- staff
- Proficient and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record
- Starting IVs
- Giving after care instructions and discharge patients with appropriate documentation
- Assisting in transfers/emergency care as directed
- Ultrasound training and duties as assigned. May include intra-operative procedural guidance
- Blood draws, point of care testing, and other lab duties as assigned
- Providing patient education including but not limited to contraception, sexually transmitted diseases
- (including HIV) prevention and treatments, health promotion activities, pregnancy options,
- gender affirming hormone care, or abortion services. Provides appropriate and medically accurate
- patient education in support of all services offered by the affiliate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience in sexual and reproductive health care, preferably with abortion care exposure
- Current Washington registered nursing license with willingness to be licensed in other states as needed
- It is the candidate’s professional obligation to keep all licensure and certification up to date and to provide a copy of such to the affiliate
- Proficient in IV placement
- CPR and BLS certification required
- ACLS certification, as per state requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of quality assurance and risk management standards
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Travel to multiple affiliate locations may be required
Salary Range:
$39.02 - $68.03 hourly

This is a union role – United Food Workers and Commercial 3000.
