About the Role:
The Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for Neurology at Bloomington Medical Services (BMS01) plays a critical role in supporting neurologists and healthcare teams in delivering exceptional patient care. This position involves assisting with neurological assessments, preparing patients for examinations, and managing clinical tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the neurology department. The role requires close collaboration with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to facilitate accurate documentation, patient education, and follow-up care. The successful candidate will contribute to improving patient outcomes by providing compassionate, detail-oriented care tailored to the unique needs of neurology patients. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN license or certification as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience working in a clinical healthcare setting, preferably in neurology or a related specialty.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience specifically in neurology or neurological care.
- Advanced certifications such as Certified Neurology Medical Assistant (CNMA) or similar.
- Familiarity with neurological diagnostic equipment and procedures.
- Additional training in patient education or chronic disease management.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist neurologists during patient examinations by preparing patients and necessary equipment.
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and administering medications or treatments as directed.
- Coordinate patient flow and manage appointment schedules to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide patient education regarding neurological conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions.
- Support the neurology team by ordering and managing medical supplies and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to facilitate comprehensive care.
