Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient care during surgical procedures.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients undergoing surgery.
  • Assist the surgical team in various procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and necessary equipment.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the operating room.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia, and overall well-being during surgery.
  • Educate patients and their families on pre- and post-operative care instructions.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, protocols, and safety regulations.
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain comprehensive medical records.

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an RN nursing program, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: NE, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 5 - months and
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 5 - months

Applies principles of proper body alignment during transfer and positioning of patient. Ensures safety of patient during the use of electrical equipment (i.e. electrosurgical cautery units). Correctly collects and accurately labels specimens. Documents and maintains accurate OR nursing records including: intraoperative care, patient’s condition, medications, treatment, responses and assessment of changes, etc. Identifies, labels, and dispenses medications and solutions safely. Assists anesthesia as requested by anesthesia personnel. Demonstrates ability to assist in ACLS interventions.
