Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with acute medical needs.
Conduct detailed assessments and develop individualized care plans that support recovery.
Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments with precision and adherence to best practices.
Monitor patient conditions, responding proactively to changes and adjusting care plans as needed.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery strategies and long-term health management.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists and healthcare teams to ensure seamless, coordinated care.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care in alignment with hospital policies and clinical standards.
  • Monitor patient progress, document care interventions and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Support patient education efforts to enhance understanding and self-care management.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Assist in training, mentoring and onboarding new nurses and students.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital safety protocols, infection control measures and regulatory requirements.

 

Location:

This position is based at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, IL, part of Memorial Health’s network of care.

Education, Licensures & Certifications:

  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • BSN preferred

  • CPR certification required or must be completed during onboarding

Experience:

  • New graduates and experienced RNs welcome
  • 2-3 years of acute care experience preferred

Overview The Registered Nurse-Surgery will be responsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of evidence-based nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process. Provides age appropriate patient care. Implements evidence-based findings into practice and participates in research as appropriate. Responsibilities Works within the context of the surgical team to provide care to individuals before, during and after a surgical procedure. Completes assessment of assigned patient’s condition, develops individual plan of care for patient. Provide direct patient care to individuals in the pre-surgical, operative and recovery periods. Evaluates outcomes, consults with others as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. The PACU Nurse will be responsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process.
