A part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is available to provide essential care during bus rides for an early childhood school student in Seattle, WA. This role is ideal for a skilled LPN or LVN with experience in school settings who is attentive to complex medical needs and committed to supporting a student’s health and safety during transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care on the bus for a student with multilevel airway disease during short rides to and from school.
  • Monitor and manage continuous BiPAP support and perform nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal suctioning.
  • Administer GJ tube feedings and support all activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility needs.
  • Perform straight catheterization as needed and respond appropriately to frequent seizures.
  • Collaborate effectively with caregivers and school staff to ensure comprehensive student care.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid LPN or LVN license.
  • Experience in pediatric nursing, specifically with medically complex children.
  • Knowledge of airway management and ventilator support.
  • Ability to perform specialized care techniques including suctioning and catheterization.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.

Schedule & Location:

  • Part-time, contract position.
  • Approximately 3.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday (14 hours per week), primarily in the afternoons.
  • Start date pending receipt of school orders from caregiver.
  • Located in Seattle, Washington at an Early Childhood School.
