RN PACU Full-time

JOB TITLE:  Pre-Operative/PACU RN

Shift: 4 days, 10 hours/day, 0630-1700
 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

  • Direct and be accountable for the nursing care of patients in the Pre-Operative Assessment and Testing outpatient setting
  • Ability to teach and share knowledge with ancillary services (anesthesia), and physicians in patient preparation for surgical procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent telephone communication and charting skills
  • Strong empathy when dealing with the patient and family undergoing surgical interventions
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Organize and deliver pre-operative patient education, based on the specific needs for the patient
  • Task include gathering histories and performing physicals, use anesthesia guidelines for pre-operative testing if not previously ordered by surgeon. Gather and evaluate lab work, EKG's, and surgical clearances

 

Qualifications

  • Must hold current license for a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia
  • 2+ years experience in Pre-Operative Setting
