Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) for 36 hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Department Highlights

  • ICU Department (16 beds) General Acute Intensive Care Unit – Swing bed unit based upon acuity level. You will provide care to a variety of patients with CRRT, Balloon pumps, hyperthermia, hypothermia, various drips, step-down patients, neuro patients and more.

Here’s What You Need

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required - BSN preferred
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – upon hire – expiration date greater than 3 months preferred
  • ACLS – within 90 days required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • 2+ years of RN experience in ICU strongly preferred
  • Charge nurse/preceptor experience preferred.

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

Provide hands-on care, management, and evaluation of the care plan and teaching of the patient under a physician based on ongoing assessments and as required by policy/regulation. Report patient care, conditions, and progress to the patient's physician, pharmacy, and Clinical Manager continuously. Implement patient care plan in conjunction with patient and family to assist them in achieving optimal resolution of needs/problems. Discharge patients after consultation with the physician and Clinical Manager, preparing and completing needed clinical documentation. Prepare appropriate medical documentation on all patients, including case conferences, patient contacts, medication order changes, re-certifications, progress updates, and care plan changes.
