Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant is responsible for direct care and assistance of all clinic patients. Services include but are not limited to: obtaining vitals, medication reconciliation, assisting patients to fill out intake forms, ordering supplies, and stocking the exam rooms. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the providers in the office to schedule clinic appointments and diagnostic tests and gather results for the provider to review. Additional duties may include: scheduling/rescheduling appointments, performing reminder calls, receiving/returning patient phone calls, entering charges, verifying insurance/demographics, registration, data entry, maintaining strict confidentiality, copying/faxing duties and performing other duties as required. Opportunity to cross train in EEG and be a resource when not needed in clinic.

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in providing patient care.
Coordination of care including pre-surgical planning and outpatient imaging
Triage phone calls
Knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, fax machine and computer.
Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to handle multiple priorities at once with minimal supervision.
Skill in dealing with interpersonal issues and customer relations.
Application of EEG for Routine, Stat and long term monitoring for non-invasive diagnostic examination.

EXPERIENCE: (Minimum relevant work experience for successful job performance)

Minimum of 1 years of experience preferred.
Neurology experience preferred but not required.
EEG experience preferred but not required.
Possession of a active and unrevoked MA Certification
