Essential Functions:
Conduct comprehensive health assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate differential diagnoses for acutely ill patients.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians and healthcare teams.
Perform and assist with procedures appropriate to scope of practice (e.g., line placements, intubations, suturing, etc., depending on setting).
Monitor patients’ progress, adjust treatment plans, and provide rapid response in urgent or emergent situations.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Document all care provided in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and best practices.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize transitions of care and discharge planning.
Maintain current knowledge of acute care, pharmacology, and clinical best practices through continuing education.
Experience and Education:
Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Certification: Current board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP or ACNP-BC).
Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice.
Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in acute or critical care settings preferred (e.g., ICU, ED, hospital medicine, or step-down unit).
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Strong diagnostic reasoning, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
