Qualifications

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
  • TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course 12 Months Req And
  • ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course 12 Months Req Or
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days Req
  • 1 Year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required
  • 2 years experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred
  • ED experience strongly preferred

Role

The Charge Nurse role will support and actively participate in shared governance/councils which is Texas Health’s structure for decision making. This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
