Benchmark Senior Livingis seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor. As a Nursing Supervisor you will manage the successful operation of the Resident Care Department, under the leadership of the Resident Care Director within our senior living community. Responsibility includes direct oversight, coaching, and direct supervision of all resident care service providers in the community.  Provide on-floor nursing support to our residents and interact with family members. Incumbent will also conduct external and internal assessments and be available to take on call as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with families and friends of residents
  • Assuring compliance with all resident care related regulations (e.g., medication management)
  • Documenting and providing accurate record-keeping, as appropriate
  • Demonstrating personal/resident safety methods and procedures

Requirements

  • Being a Registered Nurse, per state regulations; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is a plus
  • Required is a minimum of 1 year Assisted Living/Home Care or Hospice experience as a RN and 2 years' experience in a care setting as a RN
  • Certified in Gerontology through the American Nurses Credentialing Association a plus
  • Knowledge of Dementia care a plus
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds individually
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to be on call as identified by the community

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care to patients and their families following the nursing process, established standards and practices. They will assist physicians and other team members in coordinating patient care and function as a resource for support staff (LPNs an. Medical Assistants). Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities: Accessing the patient for bloods/chemo via central and peripheral lines Administration of antibiotics, biologic medications and/or chemotherapy/immunotherapy Provide initial and ongoing patient education prior to each procedure and drug administration Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients throughout treatment Provide monitoring and continued assessment throughout the infusion treatment and report any adverse reactions to physician Schedules patient according to their treatment regimen Strong triage skills for patient needs throughout their infusion as well as for patient phone calls Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Minimum education: Associate Degree; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred Current NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse ACLS and BLS certified required upon hire Infusion experience is a plus but we will provide training to an experienced RN or new grad nurse. ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification or will assist candidate to obtain certification within 6-9 months after hire.
