Job Summary

  • The Clinic Triage RN serves as a key liaison between clinic patients and the clinical care team, providing nursing triage, consultation, and education primarily via telephone. The role supports patient safety and quality care through accurate assessment, documentation, and communication, and contributes to the efficient functioning of the clinic by reducing unnecessary in-person visits. The Triage RN functions under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Triage incoming patient calls and assess needs using clinical judgment and established protocols
  • Provide patient education, nursing consultation, and follow-up care instructions
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Coordinate with providers and staff to ensure timely follow-up and communication of patient concerns
  • Assist in medication administration, dressing changes, and vital sign monitoring as needed
  • Participate in quality improvement and infection prevention initiatives
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices and clinic policies through continuing education
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient clinic operations
