CMA Pediatric Full-time

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Assists provider by rooming patient, documenting signs/symptoms, obtaining blood pressure, weight and temperature as pertinent. Completes medical history forms.  


Performs set-up for procedures and assists provider with procedures, which may include performing dressing changes, ear washes, catheterizations, removing sutures and staples, removing castings, breathing treatments, assisting with cast application and DME fittings, EKG’s, urinalyses, strep, flu, pregnancy tests, and some injections as directed by the provider and dependent upon the providers’ specialty.


Schedules tests, radiology exams and appointments with specialists as requested by the provider and/or patients. Enters all information pertaining to check-in/check-out as necessary in an appropriate manner in the EMR. Performs prior authorizations as required. Notifies office referral specialist when insurance referral is required.


Assists provider with office exams, obtaining height, weight, BMI and other pertinent information as required. In Family Physicians, Women’s Care, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics: May administer immunizations. Updates immunization records and records VFC immunizations in VFC log.    


Performs phone triage when scheduled, including fielding patient medical questions, test results, medication refills, and call-backs to patients as directed by provider or requested by patient. Faxes/calls/transmits prescription refills as directed by provider.


Performs walk-in patient duties as scheduled, which may include: triage, injections, blood pressures, urinalyses, medication sample requests, collecting history and other information from the patients to be relayed to the provider for direction.

Functions as a resource to visitors, providers and staff; greets everyone promptly and courteously. Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of JMH.


Performs additional duties not addressed here as assigned by the Practice Administrator, practice site provider and/or the JMH Vice President of Physician Practices.             

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Hospital policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: 


High school graduate in addition to specialized courses to include the successful completion of, and graduation from, a recognized medical assistant training course or equivalent experience required. Current CMA (AAMA), RMA, NCMA or CCMA certification required. Requires current BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months of hire.

Medical Assistant II-Riley Pediatrics Cardiology-North

Overview Homebase Address of Clinic: Meridian Crossing, 11590 N Meridian St. Suite 300 Carmel, IN Scheduled Hours for this position: 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday, no weekends/ holidays This MA position will also be responsible after trained to travel to some of our outreach clinics in Indiana. Those clinics being: Columbus, IN, Richmond, IN, Muncie, IN and Lafayette, IN. This position will be responsible for filling in when our other Travel MA is on vacation or sick. There are no more than 2 outreach clinics a week. You will get compensated by mileage each time you travel to one of these clinics. The outreach clinics are only scheduled in the mornings till noon with the maximum number of patients being 8 to be seen. This position will also be the fill in MA to cover shortages in the downtown Riley clinic, travel to that clinic will also be compensated. This position will do height, weight, manual blood pressures/doppler pressures, room patients, do 12 lead EKG’s and flu vaccines. They will also learn how to place cardiac monitors and schedule return appointments for the patients.
