Overview

4 North is a 16 bed-unit in which the Register Nurse (RN) facilitates expert multidisciplinary care to a variety of medical/surgical adult and geriatric patients. There is a strong emphasis on provision of care to patients requiring hospitalization before and/or after general surgery. The RN also cares for the Ear, Nose and Throat surgical patients along with peritoneal dialysis patients and patients with other medical problems covering a wide range of diagnoses. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:

This position is a designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services. 


Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current, active license to practice in Arkansas
• BSN preferred
• If less than one year experience as a Registered Nurse, must obtain a BSN degree within 4 years of hire.
• Certification preferred
• Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education
• Successful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
• Basic keyboarding skills, preferred
• Aggression Management Training

Other education and experience may be substituted (if applicable) for the required minimum job qualifications with the approval of the Corporate Director of Human Resources.

Department: ICE | CVSL Cardiac Cath Lab IP C Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab RN will provide direct patient care as a RN in Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Lab. In this role physical care will be provided in the prep, intra procedure and post procedure care of patients. Intra procedure care includes administering moderate sedation and patient monitoring. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The Nurse will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans within Cath Lab/Electrophysiology Lab. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associate's Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing ; Valid RN License Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience Additional Information: Responsibilities: Collects and documents assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard. Develops patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data. Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes. Administers medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act. Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family centered care principles, practice standards and regulatory requirements. Supports the integration of current evidence into nursing practices. Promotes an environment conducive to positive educational experience for all students and staff. Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning. Effectively collaborates and communicates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders. Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record. Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means. Participates in recruitment/retention of staff. Facilitates development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards.
