Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY: 

Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide direct patient care to PCHC patients. Accountable for the provision of parenteral and enteral nursing services to clients in the infusion suite as well as in the home (Idaho Falls, Pocatello, surrounding communities). .  Must be able to function as a “working nurse” with a focus on providing quality patient care and adhering to the ridged standards of practice for an infusion center.

Qualifications


Education/Certification:  Must be a graduate of accredited school of nursing and be currently licensed by the Idaho State Board of Nursing. Must maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Experience:   Required to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide competent care appropriate to the age of patients served, including infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Must possess excellent clinical skills, including demonstrated skill in establishing IV’s and good knowledge of IV therapy.  Administering multiple drugs through multiple sites and through central lines (PICC lines, Ports, and subclavian Sites.)

Equipment/Technology: Must possess a valid Idaho drivers license, meet minimum Idaho state automobile insurance requirements, and have the use of an automobile for transportation and use in performing assigned duties. Must be familiar with and ability to run infusion pumps/vital machines and have basic computer knowledge/skills.

Language/Communication: Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with a range of professionals as well as patients, their families, and other caregivers.

Mathematical Skills:  Basic math skills.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. 

Mental Capabilities:  Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing situations.  Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments.  Ability to problem solve and handles stressful situations

Interpersonal:  Must work effectively with physicians with physicians, pharmacists, other nurses, and health care providers.

Performance:  Must be self-motivated and self-directed in order to carry out work in the patient’s home and clinic without direct supervision. Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines while possessing the upmost professionalism.

Qualifications Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current valid RN license with the state of Idaho. Proof of completion of the following courses is required either at time of hire, or within the time frame designated: BLS at the time of hire or within 14 days of employment AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Principles and Practice prior to completion of labor orientation or as soon as possible, or current RNC-EFM. Renew every 2 years or maintain EFM. NRP within 6 months of hire ACLS within 6 months of hire STABLE within 6 months of hire Complete all required Labor and Maternal Newborn orientation competencies prior to coming off orientation , and thereafter attend biannual skills lab to maintain competency. Complete QMP-OB, Baby Catching, & Scrub competencies within 6 months Experience : 3 years previous labor and/or postpartum experience (preferred) Equipment/Technology: Basic Computer Skills. Able to use I.V. pumps, radiant warmer, fetal monitoring devices, leg compression devices, PCA pump and respiratory equipment, etc. Language/Communication: Excellent communication skills and leadership capability. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate drug dosages . Mental Capabilities: Possess critical thinking and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize patient care for safety and best optimal outcome. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Interpersonal: Able to work well with others. Able to de-escalate volatile situations. Able to consider constructive instruction.
