Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Pre Admission Testing RN to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Pre-Admission testing nurse will interview patients prior to surgery to obtain a thorough and comprehensive medical history from them, assist with preop labs and tests, give pre-op instructions, initiate pre-op teaching and clarify the patient’s understanding of the procedure, intended anesthetic approach, expected outcomes and personal responsibilities. They must work in concert with the Scheduling Clerk for optimum utilization of the O.R. schedule, suites, personnel and equipment. They must be alert for potential problems encountered during the interview and handle them appropriately. They will at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with patients, colleagues, and supervisors.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Idaho. Current BLS required.
Experience: Background in medical/surgical nursing required.
Equipment/Technology: Computer experience required.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Good phone skills.
Mathematical Skills: General high school math.
Mental Capabilities: Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments.
Interpersonal: See under job description.
Performance: Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines.
