We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sedation/ Recovery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at a state-of-the-art Office-Based Lab (OBL) in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients undergoing vascular and interventional radiology procedures, with a focus on sedation management, monitoring, and post-procedure recovery. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and monitor moderate sedation during interventional radiology procedures.
Continuously assess and document patient vital signs, sedation levels, and overall status.
Provide post-procedure recovery care, ensuring a smooth and safe transition from sedation to full consciousness.
Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care, discharge instructions, and follow-up plans.
Collaborate with interventional radiologists and the medical team to optimize patient care.
Maintain accurate documentation of sedation administration, patient responses, and recovery progress.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, safety protocols, and infection control policies.
Assist in managing emergency situations, including airway support and cardiovascular monitoring.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
Minimum 2 years of experience in recovery, sedation, PACU, ICU, or interventional radiology settings preferred.
Proficiency in administering and monitoring moderate sedation.
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of vascular procedures such as angiograms, venograms, prostate artery embolization (PAE), and genicular artery embolization (GAE) is a plus.
