We have full time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist positions available with our growing organization at our future Franciscan OrthoIndy Ambulatory Surgery Center to open in West Lafayette, Indiana in January 2026. This outpatient surgery center will include four operating rooms, one procedure room and 17 PPOP-PACU bays.

General Statement of Duties:
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice registered nurse who specializes in providing anesthesia care. The CRNA works with healthcare teams to administer anesthesia during surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and obstetrical procedures. CRNAs assess patients, develop anesthesia care plans, administer anesthesia medications, monitor patients during procedures, and manage post-anesthesia recovery. CRNAs play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and comfort during medical procedures.
Essential Duties:
- Evaluate patients’ medical history, perform preoperative assessments, request diagnostic studies, and obtain informed consent. Develop an individualized anesthesia care plan.
- Deliver general, regional (e.g., epidural, spinal), local anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care.
- Perform airway management techniques including intubation (fiberoptic or otherwise), mechanical ventilation, and maintain respiratory function during procedures.
- Continuously observe vital signs and anesthetic depth, making adjustments as needed to preserve patient stability.
- Oversee patients during emergence and recovery; administer fluids, medications, or ventilatory support; monitor for complications; and transition them safely to post-anesthesia care units.
- Utilize acute and chronic pain relief strategies, including use of PCA pumps, epidurals, nerve blocks, or regional anesthesia techniques.
- Act rapidly in crisis scenarios—such as anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest, or airway obstruction—implementing anesthesia-focused interventions and advanced life support.
- Select, prepare, and operate invasive/non-invasive monitoring devices, ventilation systems, and anesthetic equipment while ensuring safety through routine checks.
- Accurately record peri-anesthetic events, anesthesia doses, vital signs, and patient responses. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and facility policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required. Requires that the RN graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Indiana Registered Nurse license required.
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) license required. Requires that the CRNA graduated from a nurse anesthesia education program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
- 1-2 years of experience required.
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
- Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer as required by the State of Indiana required.
