GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Advanced Practice Professional(APP)AcuteCare is askilledindividual, qualified by academic and clinical education who provides assistance in the provision of specialtyand acute medical care for children with a wide variety of
acute, complex acute, critical and chronic illness in the inpatient setting.The APP AcuteCarePICU and IMCwill function independently, under the supervision an attendingphysicianin accordance with a standard care arrangement and specialty board certification.

    Assistwith physician-directed care including:

    with supervisingphysician, obtain appropriate referral/consultation, additionallaboratory or radiological studies as

    change in the patient’s condition and describing corrective measures already taken.

    6)Daily assessment of patient’s hospital course, write note of patient’s progress in chart asit pertains to the supervising
    physician and implement indicated therapy as determined by the supervising physician.

    7)Communicate with Supervising Physician, Medical Team and patient/family to establish anticipated dischargeneeds
    and initiate discharge teaching.

    8)Assists with the coordination of discharge planning and/or follow-up.
    9)Serve as a resource for clinicalstaff.
    10)Assess, perform, and document parent/patient education.
