Responsibilities

•Complete and scan required record keeping forms/charts upon the guest’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge.•Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the guest, as well as the guest’s response to the care.•Report all discrepancies noted concerning physician’s orders, diet change, charting error, etc., to the Director of Nursing.•Ensure that appropriate documentation concerning unauthorized discharges is entered in the guest’s medical record in accordance with established procedures.

Qualifications

•Current, unencumbered LPN/LVN license required or Compact State license- required.•A minimum of 2 years LPN/LVN experience required.•Able to educate patients and family on multiple disease processes and have good medication knowledge and wound care experience.

Keeps documentation on file of all medications on campus and all necessary treatments. Follows health care plans for students needing specialized health care procedures. Notifies, advises, and updates parents regarding health care issues and medical problems involving individual and/or all students. Consults with Principal on matters related to emergency situations, suspected child abuse, contagious diseases, or other medically sensitive situations. Acts as a team member in management team meetings by portraying an accurate picture of health and safety issues, providing student health information which may directly affect student performance, and recommending intervention with academic, social or psychological needs. Attends IEP team meetings and follows specialized health care plans for IEP students. Organizes and performs screening procedures for hearing, vision, height, weight, scoliosis, blood pressure and lice. Maintains health records in compliance with federal and state laws.
