Requirements: Education - Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Minimum of Associates Degree of Nursing - Preferred Bachelors Degree of Nursing Experience: Desirable characteristics include at least 1 year of experience in a hospital or medically related environment with ER experience preferred. Licenses/Certificates - Registered and Licensed by the State of Georgia. Current certification in CPR, or completion of CPR course (AHA) within 60 days of employment, ACLS certification, or ACLS obtained within 90 days of employment. PALS preferred. Job Description: The Triage Nurse conducts initial assessments to evaluate how urgently a patient needs care. They ask questions, check vital signs and coordinate care with other medical professionals, such as nurses and physicians. Duties & Responsibilities: The primary focus of a Triage Nurse is to ensure that the patients who are most in need of care receive it first and that other members of the care team are ready to begin treatments as quickly as possible. Non-nursing duties will include but not limited to performing CNA duties, keeping rooms clean and stocked, clerical duties as assigned, answering phones and relaying messages appropriately.
