Job Description: MD Care & Associates is seeking a friendly, dependable Medical Assistant to join our patient-centered team in San Diego. The MA performs daily task in addition to coordinating and overseeing the daily workflow of the Medical Assistance team to ensure high-quality patient care, efficiency and compliance with clinical standards. This role includes mentoring staff, monitoring staff completion, supporting providers, and promoting a safe and organized clinical environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist healthcare providers and physician assistants with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments Room patients, obtain medical histories, vital signs, and perform diagnostic testing (spirometry, EKG, wound care, ear lavage). Administer medications and injections, ensuring proper documentation and logging. Prepare, clean, and maintain examination rooms, instruments, and medical equipment. Manage patient scheduling, medical records, referrals, and prescription refills in EPIC within required timelines. Complete daily clinical tasks including supply restock, documentation, faxes, scanning, and voicemail follow-up. Order labs, imaging, and durable medical equipment (DME) as directed. Train and mentor new hires or students; monitor medical assistants for policy compliance and workplace ethics. Assign duties, adjust workloads, and support staff to maintain efficient patient flow. Serve as first point of contact for MA-related issues during daily operations. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, state labor laws (including break times), and organizational policies. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring documents (DMV, POA, etc.) are scanned and returned before departure. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems, EPIC, and Microsoft Office Suite. Minimum 1-3 years of clinical Medical Assistant experience (lead or supervisor experience preferred) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
