Palmer Healthcare Center, located in Palmer, MA is seeking a dynamic Director of Nursing Services who can manage a 61-bed skilled nursing facility. This person will be responsible for the leadership, organization, and development of nursing staff in the care of residents/patients entrusted to our care, using recognized standards of practice and a person-centered approach.

Job Responsibilities:

The coordination of resident care with a “hands on” management style
Develops, reviews, and revises nursing and clinical policies with the help of our Nurse Consultant
Conducts employee performance evaluations and disciplinary situations to ensure quality care of residents
Knowledge of Long-Term Care Regulations
Ability to lead in the recruitment of qualified staff by conducting interviews
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
Ability to focus on customer service and collaboration with other departments to develop, support, and coordinate patient care and related functions
Promote an atmosphere of respect, professional growth, and encouragement for all nursing staff members and assure regulatory standards and company goals are met or exceeded
Responsible for cost controls by monitoring the use of supplies and equipment
Active member in various committees including Safety, QA, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

Massachusetts R.N. license
Knowledge of Long-Term Care Regulations
Minimum of 2 years long term care experience, with some experience in a small facility desired
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or Unit Manager in a rehabilitation and long-term care environment
A love of nursing and a desire to lead, support, and respect a committed nursing department
