Completes admission assessment within 8 hours of admission (provisions made/documented i.e., Functional/Cognitive Status). Completes nursing assessment on assigned patients promptly and adequately, within an hour, to ensure patient safety and continuity of care. Performs medication list verification upon admission along with review of allergies. Continuously assesses patient response to illness intervention and use of critical thinking to problem solve. Documents completely and accurately. Effectively utilizes telemetry and camera systems. Must have an active valid Maine RN license. Meets the unit’s annual competency training requirements. Obtains BLS certification within 3 months and maintain certification thereafter. Complete Basic Cardiac Course within one year of hire to department. As a key member of the surgical team, the Surgical Technician works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and registered nurses to deliver high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgery. In this role, you will be responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment essential to each surgical procedure. Deliver care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general needs of patients, determining priorities based on individual conditions and factors that influence patient flow. Communicate effectively with ED physicians regarding changes in status, symptoms, and diagnostic results, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
