RN Acute Care Unit -FT/NIGHTS

Description Job Summary: Status Hours: 36 hours/week 7p-7a Registered Nurse – Acute Care Unit Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care Unit. In this role, you’ll provide patient-centered care by recognizing individual needs related to age, culture, and learning styles. You will support both organizational and unit standards while fostering a collaborative and cooperative environment with a strong focus on customer service. Duties Include but are not limited to: Completes admission assessment and recognizes actual and potential health problems. Completes admission assessment within 8 hours of admission (provisions made/documented i.e., Functional/Cognitive Status). Completes nursing assessment on assigned patients promptly and adequately, within an hour, to ensure patient safety and continuity of care. Performs medication list verification upon admission along with review of allergies. Continuously assesses patient response to illness intervention and use of critical thinking to problem solve. Documents completely and accurately. Effectively utilizes telemetry and camera systems. Must have an active valid Maine RN license. Meets the unit’s annual competency training requirements. Obtains BLS certification within 3 months and maintain certification thereafter. Complete Basic Cardiac Course within one year of hire to department. Requirements Must have an active valid Maine RN license. Meets the unit’s annual competency training requirements. Obtains BLS certification within 3 months and maintain certification thereafter. Description Status 36 hours/week Night Shift: 7p-7a Job Summary Provide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department while coordinating care planning with other disciplines. Deliver care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general needs of patients, determining priorities based on individual conditions and factors that influence patient flow. Communicate effectively with ED physicians regarding changes in status, symptoms, and diagnostic results, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response. Description Status Hours- 12hr Nights Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a CNA/ED Tech to join our Emergency Department team. We are seeking a dedicated professional who is flexible, organized, and able to perform effectively in high-stress situations. In this role, you’ll work closely with providers and nursing staff to support patient care, address concerns, and respond to patient needs. Essential Job Duties: Collaborate with nurses and physicians as needed to maximize team effectiveness. Maintain fax machine, printers and PCs, while troubleshooting problems. Report patient concerns to the Nurse Manager for follow-up. Courteously interact with all hospital staff, and answer/respond to telephone calls. Obtain and monitor needed supplies/equipment; make recommendations to The ED Nurse Manager. Function as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant as directed by Nurse Manager. Assist physicians and nurses in contacting other physicians/offices in any way needed. Actively participate in departmental quality management by completing assigned audits and data collection. Collating data as requested, maintaining knowledge of annual QM plan. Accurately enters orders within CPSI when necessary. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. Other duties as assigned Requirements Education or License: Maintain a current CNA certificate of the state of Maine. Maintain current BLS certification. Medical terminology not required but desired. Ability to answer phones courteously an in a professional manner. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be able to perform well in stressful, noisy situations. Maintain a high degree of responsibility, accountability, and flexibility. Ability to use fax machine, photocopier and personal computer. Demonstrates knowledge of computerized technology, procedures for reporting failures, and procedures for emergency shutdowns. Physical Requirements: Minimal physical work, lifting not to exceed 50 lbs. Moderate amount of writing. Significant amount of typing. Place equipment on supports and lift supplies as needed. Bending to perform certain duties. Use material handling equipment (i.e. cart, dollies) and proper body mechanics when moving or transferring materials, supplies, or equipment that exceeds the weight limits or that which is beyond your level of capacity to lift. Availability: Shift 7p-7a as scheduled by manager. Depending on the department staffing needs, you may be asked to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
