We’re currently seeking a caregiver “Personal Assistant” who will support a woman who lives in her own apartment in Milwaukie and experiences developmental disabilities. She is an energetic, enthusiastic woman with a great sense of humor. She is very outgoing and enjoys meeting new people to socialize with. She is eager to work with a “Personal Assistant” who enjoys having lots of fun. Together, you will go on outings such as exploring her wonderful neighborhood, going bowling, and playing games such as UNO. You will also work together on household chores, cooking, and running errands. She needs assistance with showering, taking medications, eating, and transferring from her wheelchair. You’ll work 2 shifts per week totaling 42 hours: 12pm on Sunday to 8pm on Monday (32-hour shift) and 8am to 6pm Friday (10-hour shift). *You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays. High school diploma or GED. Be able to pass our pre-hiring screenings, including a reference check, a physical with a lifting test of 50lbs, and a criminal history background check. Drivers preferred—if choosing to drive for UCP, you must be at least 18 years old, have a current driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, at least two years of driving experience, auto insurance, and a clean driving record. Experience in the mental health or developmental disability field preferred, but not required. $18.00 per hour. Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week. Holiday pay (double pay for the first 12 hours of any agency holiday shift that you work). Some folks will need help with chores, and others will need assistance with personal care such as showering and medication administration. You’ll work one-on-one, so you’ll have the time to build real relationships. We’re currently seeking a “Supported Living Specialist” who will work 4-5 days per week (8 to 9 hours per day, generally between the hours of 8am to 7pm). This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule. Fridays and Saturdays will be required and you can choose the other days you want to work.
