Nurses on this unit are specially trained in caring for people with cancer and have received additional education in the biology of cancer and chemotherapy. As an Oncology Quality and Compliance Nurse, your responsibilities include: Supporting patient safety initiatives and quality improvement across the oncology continuum of care. Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards including CoC, NAPBC, NAPRC, APEx, and FACT. Collaborating with the Cancer Center Quality and Safety Officer to conduct real-time incident tracking, lead safety huddles, and contribute to root cause analyses. Driving performance improvement through the monitoring of key hospital-based outcome metrics such as infection rates, readmissions, and treatment-related complications. Validating and submitting quality metrics in alignment with MD Anderson Cancer Center standards, with expected growth in reporting scope. Supporting transplant and cellular therapy programs by ensuring adherence to FACT standards related to documentation, consent, product handling, and toxicity monitoring.
