Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Dermatology Department delivers comprehensive, patient-centered clinical care in a fast-paced outpatient setting, supporting medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services. This role integrates advanced clinical treatment delivery, care coordination, and patient education while promoting efficient workflows, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience. Key responsibilities include patient assessment and triage, assisting with dermatologic procedures, administering medications and treatments, and coordinating individualized care plans. The RN provides specialized therapeutic services including phototherapy treatments, excimer laser therapy, and photodynamic therapy (PDT). Additional responsibilities include initiating infusion therapies, coordinating biologic medication programs (including prior authorizations, patient education, and specialty pharmacy collaboration), and monitoring patient outcomes and treatment response. The RN collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary clinical staff to ensure safe, effective, and timely care delivery while supporting continuous quality improvement and optimal patient results. Responsibilities Manage Phototherapy for all patients, including dosing, scheduling, and prior authorizations. Manage PDT and Excimer Laser treatments for all patients, including dosing, scheduling, and prior authorizations. Triage calls (collecting information, providing advice/recommendations and documenting in the patient’s chart). If necessary, going to provider for advice/recommendations. Ensure timely communication of pathology results to patients on behalf of the provider, coordinate appropriate follow-up and surgical care as indicated, and provide clear education and guidance regarding treatment plan Recognize normal versus abnormal results; prepares accurate, readable report of the test; contact physician and/or patient when necessary. Order additional consultations, labs and testing as needed Assist with Biologic Medication Authorizations Responsible for infusion authorizations and scheduling with outside infusion services Provide clinical support to MA’s on floor as needed. Overview For a professional Registered Nurse to provide outpatient nursing care and assistance to our providers in the Endocrine Clinic and the Strelitz Diabetes Center. The patient population include diabetes and its comorbidities (hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity etc) as well as thyroid, osteoporosis, pituitary, adrenal, and other hormonal disorders. Must be able to independently perform clinical and administrative duties. Coordinate patient care by; reporting test results, assessment of patient status, educational needs, patient education and follow-up care. Responsibilities Contribute to the well-being of the patients by serving as a positive role model and demonstrating a professional, caring attitude, and behavior towards coworkers and patients. Review, work, and complete tasks assigned to you and other team tasks. This will include responding to patient messages, prescription refills, lab results, referrals, home health agencies, medication prior authorizations, patient forms and follow up from physicians in a professional and timely manner Notify patient of test/lab results and answer any questions regarding those results and any physician orders. Assist patients with medication questions and clarification dosing. Appropriately and timely document all nursing intervention, including phone conversations into the patient’s electronic health record. Provide back -up to the providers in the clinic as necessary, triaging patients by obtaining vital signs, reconciling medication and allergy list, determining chief complaint and downloading pumps and continuous glucose sensors as needed. Patient education, discharge medication reconciliation, drug assistance programs, nutrition and barriers to care Obtain lab/CT/MRI/Biopsy results from outside sources and scan into the patient’s electronic medical record. This includes reviewing upcoming appointments and obtaining prior to the visit. Obtain prior authorization for medications, censors and pump supplies and coordinate care with DME companies Participate in staff meetings and educational lectures/sessions. Lead some clinical educational luncheons for staff. Schedule outpatient procedures and tests, including Infusions. Specific to Endocrinology: Recognize and assess health education needs of patients. Provide ongoing Diabetic Education and Teaching, Insulin Pump and Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) training, and home monitoring and assistance with patient assistance programs. Administer injections of and schedule follow-up or schedule outpatient infusions for Prolia, Reclast, and ACTH, in accordance with approved nursing protocol and standing orders and document appropriately in the patient’s electronic health record. Observe patient for any adverse reactions. Assist provide with Ultrasound Thyroid biopsies and Fine Needle Aspirations. Mailing off and tracking results. Overview The Nurse Manager is responsible for management of clinical services of the Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery (MIGS) Division, within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). The Nurse Manager works closely with the MIGS Division Director, MIGS Practice Manager, and Department Administrator to develop, implement, and maintain clinical programs that enhance the quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and provider satisfaction. The Nurse Manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations and oversight of the MIGS Division in both Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg. The Nurse Manager provides direction and manages professional employees and is accountable for the performance and results of a team within the framework of the OBGYN Department and EVMS Medical Group. Responsibilities Position will be actively involved in daily clinical support functions to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare. These functions will include hands on support and oversight within the MIGS clinical operations at the Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg locations, to include nursing, provider, and patient support and coordination throughout the day. Responsible for the tracking, trending, and auditing of daily and monthly clinical performance related to operational metrics and quality measures, ensuring the team is working within their scope of practice and meeting all associated metrics.Provide direct supervision of assigned MIGS clinical staff. Responsible for talent identification, hiring, onboarding, and training for new team members. Responsible for coordination and distribution of clinical staff assignments and schedules. Demonstrate critical thinking skills needed for maintaining optimum clinical care and effective clinical workflow when faced with operational challenges such as provider and staffing shortages, emergency scheduling issues, electronic health record and telephone outages and other variables that frequently present within the clinical environment. Identify gaps in performance of staff and provide counseling, training or performance improvement plans as needed. Develop measurable metrics to ensure performance standards are being met. Develop and implement policies and procedures governing all aspects of clinical operations. Work in clinics as needed. Represent the MIGS clinical team during leadership meetings, trainings and development sessions. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree. Three (3) years of supervisor experience is required. Licensed Virginia RN (or LPNwith equivalent education and/or experience) is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a Medical Office environment is preferred.
