The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking to hire 50%-100% Staff Nurses to join our newly created Transfer Care team in the Emergency Department (ED) at our University Campus. The ED Transfer Care Nurse is a member of the ED inpatient team that initiates inpatient care for the adult patient population. This team cares for a variety of admitted medical and surgical patients within the ED. The Transfer Care Nurse team emphasizes flexibility and adaptability. The ED Transfer Care Nurse will assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice. Characteristic Duties of our Staff Nurses include (but not limited to): Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness.
