Responsibilities As one of the providers for a busy Endocrinology practice, the Nurse Practitioner will get a chance to work with a diverse population within Mercy’s Center for Endocrinology. Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, the APP is involved in the care of individuals, families, and patient groups dealing with cancer, hereditary conditions, or other related diagnoses. This care may be delivered to clinics or virtually via telemedicine. Responsibilities span prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research—including genetic risk assessment and counseling. The APP may serve as a direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Key Responsibilities General Oncology & APP Duties Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology and hereditary risk patients. Initiate and document appropriate interventions; prescribe therapies as indicated. Perform procedures with minimal supervision. Provide education and wellness resources to patients and families.
