The CMA/CNA collaborates closely with nursing and caregiving teams to support a person-centered care environment and ensure residents attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental, and emotional health. This role functions as both a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Medication Aide in accordance with applicable state regulations. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Nurse, assists with medication and provides treatments according to physician’s orders and in accordance with facility policy. Provides, completes and documents assigned timely and accurately. Maintain resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner by providing light housekeeping, changing linen, making beds, putting away clothing and personal effects, tidying bedside table, shelves, closets, and cleaning bathrooms, etc. Provide direct care and assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, mobility, and feeding. Position is service in nature; in performance of duties the resident care assistant is entrusted to assist residents with basic personal care according to procedures and daily assignment. This includes but is not limited to bathing, dressing, dental hygiene, toilet activities, grooming, feeding, transportation/transfer,etc. The role assist residents with transfers, ambulation, and supportive devices using proper safety techniques. Attends and participates in facility meetings and in-service training programs. Practices good infection control techniques in all aspects of resident care. Prepare residents for meals, assist with serving meals and feeding of residents. Observes residents’ rights including, but not limited to, privacy, dignity, etc. Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition, behavior, or functional status. Safeguards the resident’s privacy and property. Participates in the orientation of new or temporary staff to the unit to assure continuity in the delivery of resident care. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests. Provides restorative care to residents as assigned by the Nurse or as indicated in the overall plan of care. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, sit, talk, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 100 lbs. Ability to operate various equipment base on department. The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms. Four hearing requirements listed: In person speech, Telephone, Other remote speech and other sounds. Clarity of Vision: For near visual acuity Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers. The CMA/CNA collaborates closely with nursing and caregiving teams to support a person-centered care environment and ensure residents attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental, and emotional health. This role functions as both a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Medication Aide in accordance with applicable state regulations. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Nurse, assists with medication and provides treatments according to physician’s orders and in accordance with facility policy. Provides, completes and documents assigned timely and accurately.
