Patients in this unit range in age from young adult to geriatric , however, the most common patient population is approximately 65 years old. Some of the primary procedures performed on this unit include partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, radical prostatectomy, urolithiasis, and cystectomy with continent/incontinent urinary diversion. A caregiver in this position works 11:00AM – 11:30PM or 3:00PM – 11:30PM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Collect, document and report patient data and observations. Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions. Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions . Perform routine laboratory tests. Educate patients and family members. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program. Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse . Job Responsibilities Working in post-acute facilities in the area as an LPN Being accountable to follow and adhere to resident care plans Tracking the wellbeing of residents, both physical and mental, and monitoring their vital signs Conducting intakes, documenting health concerns and medical history of residents Administering and properly verifying medications and monitoring their effects Reviewing residents' charts and medical records Assisting with the cultivation of a safe, comfortable facility Maintaining appropriate stocks of medical supplies Participating in IV set up, immunizations, and phlebotomy procedures Helping with the orientation and training of medical staff Qualifications and Skills Current Ohio state license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Completion of approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) educational program H.S. diploma or GED (or equivalent) Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs Minimum of 6 months of experience ( LPN or related role) Ready to Advance Your Career — and Live a Balanced Life?
