Overview The Clinical Research Nurse I performs a variety of clinical and non-clinical tasks associated with conducting clinical research, and within the scope of licensure. Overview Our Emergency Department unit has 43 beds staffed by RN’s, LPN’s, Paramedics, EMT’s, and LNA’s. We are the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the state of NH and work closely with our system affiliates to accept patients requiring critical/neurological/cardiac/obstetrical/medical or trauma care. Our unit sees a large volume of referrals, transfers and trauma consults from outside facilities, and provides services for the local community. We see 31,000 patients annually to include neonates through geriatric populations in various states of health, often times with multiple diseases processes. Our nurses are trained for resuscitation, acute care, outpatient care, trauma care, mental health and are proceduralists delivering bedside moderate sedation. A typical day for a nurse would involve assisting in a fracture reduction for an adult skier injury, caring for a pediatric patient with uncontrolled asthma, managing a homeless victim found unresponsive in the snow in need of resuscitation, and caring for a cardiac arrest or stroke victim. Emergency Nursing is a specialized area of practice that is both independent and collaborative, requiring the continual acquisition and application of a specialized body of knowledge and skills. This demands a broad scope of practice to promptly deliver emergency, urgent, and non-urgent care to patients of all ages and from all cultural backgrounds. The DH Emergency Department is slated to open a new 4 bed landing zone in November 2024. We are recruiting nurses with Critical Care, step down or Emergency nursing experience to join our team for this exciting new unit as we expand our ability to care for the patients in our region. As an RN on this unit, you will be caring for critical patients in urgent need for specific procedures such as; cardiac catheterization, invasive neurological procedures, external ventricular drains, intercranial pressure monitoring or patients awaiting a surgical procedure pending OR suite availability. The successful candidate should possess ACLS & PALS certifications or have the dedication to obtain within 6 months of hire and be interested in working with a dynamic team dedicated to providing specialized patient care. The unit requires flexibility and high level of engagement to thrive. The ED nursing leadership team will provide orientation and training to allow the landing zone nurses to cross train to the emergency department and/or job shares with other DH nursing units. This is a FT 3x12hr ROTATING shift position. The shifts are rotating 7p-7a and 7p-7a across all 7 days and holidays. Overview O.R. Same Day Surgery Full-time, 4 x 10 hour shifts, Monday – Friday ! 6:00am - 8:30pm (staggard start times) Our Same Day Program is a very busy 34-bed unit where patients are efficiently prepared for their surgery or procedures. A typical day we care for 50-70 patients. We also provide post anesthesia recovery care for those patients being discharged home the “same day” as their procedure. On the main unit we serve patients from 15 years through adulthood and in our separate pedi periop program we care for patients 14 and under. Within our department is a regional block program where patients receive sedation by our moderate sedation trained nurses while being administered a preoperative block before going into the OR for most commonly a joint replacement. Preadmission Services that utilize our program include but are not limited to orthopedics, gynecology, plastics, ENT, vascular, urology, radiology, cardiology and thoracic surgery. We are looking for experienced nurses that are team players and want to work in a busy 34 bed Same Day Surgery Program (SDP). Shifts are 10 hours between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:30 pm. Nurses must have current acute care hospital experience. Critical Care experience and IV skills are a plus. Same Day Program consists of an energetic and enthusiastic group of professionals that are engaged in sharing their knowledge of perioperative services!
