Overview This position is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of the unit patient. Reports all performance issues of team members to ensure all patients receive appropriate care and attention. Provider orders: Performs ongoing review, initiation and implementation of patient orders in a timely manner every shift. The Community Outreach Population Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide primary health care and behavioral health services as a member of a healthcare team comprised of Behavioral Health and Community Outreach RNs, Peers, Community Health Workers, and drivers. The Nurse Practitioner in this role will function within the appropriate scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Healthcare. In this role the NP works on our mobile health clinic (MHC) that travels throughout Sussex County. The MHC has a focus on Behavioral Health and Addiction Medicine. Maintains accuracy with patient charge process, cost efficient usage of case supplies, and ensures all pertinent data is provided to post case data personnel to facilitate a time efficient billing process. Strives to ensure efficiency in turn around time between procedures--readily available; communication with OR Desk/Charge RN and/or department Nurse Manager; gross cleaning of body fluid spills to confine contamination throughout the procedure; prioritization of case completion process; assists with room clean up tasks as necessary; prioritizes case set up process toward maximum efficiency. Initiate appropriate intraoperative behaviors unique to first assisting: provide hemostasis to reduce potential for fluid volume deficit by clamping and/or legating vessels using ESU, direct pressure, applying chemical agents that promote coagulation and other means as directed by the surgeon; provide exposure of the operative site through appropriate use of retractors, other instruments, and through suctioning and sponging; use surgical instruments skillfully in ways consistent with their design and purpose as directed by the surgeon.
