DE, Dover BayHealth Kent Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery NP or PA Credentialing is 30-60 days 3–6-month contract starting January 2026 4 shifts per week, Mon-Fri 7a-7p or 7a-3p. 1-2 weekdays call coverage, 1 in 3 weekend call coverage EMR: Epic Types of cases/patients: Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, MUST be EVH capable. CVSICU, floor management, inpatient consults, outpatient office coverage. Includes CVSICU post op patient resuscitation, nursing and patient calls from home, weekend inpatient rounding, responding to stat consults/change in clinical status, emergent OR cases. Patient Encounters per shift: 10-20 Available support staff: Surgeons, fellow APCS, nursing **This is a 1099 contract position that provides medical malpractice insurance, no other employee benefits are available. $143,894 - $223,038 / YEAR

Location: Kent Campus Hospital Status: Full Time 80 Hours Shift: Day/ Nights SALARY RANGE: 143,894.40 - 223,038.40YEARLY General Summary: Works independently and with autonomous collaboration with physician to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The Nurse Practitioner works within a collaborative model to provide quality care and to improve patient outcomes by strengthening continuity of care in all settings for patients, families, and staff in both the hospital and physician practice settings. When department/case applicable, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) remains responsible for the patient throughout the course of the treatment, provides the physical examination, the diagnosis, and the health care plan, determines when the patient has recovered, and releases the patient. The NP may refer the patient to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent medication. Responsibilities: Appropriately prescribes pharmaceuticals according to age, chronic medical conditions, allergies, drug interactions, and duration of therapy. Perform routine and specialty physical exams and document specific age-related preventative health screening. Educates and counsels patients to promote wellness. Addresses and provides resources for health risk behaviors. Interprets diagnostic tests for patient and provides appropriate referrals or consultations. Performs technical and surgical procedures for patients as necessary. Appropriately dispenses pharmaceuticals according to age, chronic medical conditions, allergies, drug interactions, and duration of therapy. Completes patient discharge planning and education; writes appropriate orders and prescriptions. Performs patient education and counseling to promote wellness. Evaluates patient’s progress toward attaining expected outcomes. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions in relation to outcomes. Documents patient’s response to interventions. Upholds the professional code of ethics. Keeps all licenses/certifications up to date (including ACLS and PALS, if applicable). All other duties as assigned, within the scope and range of job responsibilities. Manages cardiac rhythm implantable device patients for both in-office and remote monitoring evaluations. The Nurse Practitioner, within a collaborative model, provides quality care and improves patient outcomes by strengthening the continuity of care in all settings for patients, families, and staff in both the hospital and physician practice settings. Responsibilities: In-office interrogation and testing of cardiac rhythm implantable devices per industry guidelines. Evaluate and process remote reports for cardiac rhythm implantable devices per industry guidelines, including assessing and triaging urgent issues found on remote reports. In-office site evaluation, interrogation and testing of cardiac rhythm implantable devices, and patient education after cardiac rhythm implant device procedures. Signing MRI guideline orders for cardiac rhythm implantable device patients. Providing written guidance for surgeries and procedures for cardiac rhythm implantable device patients. Answering clinical questions about cardiac rhythm implantable devices from patients and other providers. Upholds the professional code of ethics. Keeps all licenses/certifications up to date (including ACLS and PALS, if applicable). All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
