Description Job Summary Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a LPN or RN. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of a licensed nurse. Duties and Responsibilities Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age. Provides care appropriate to condition and age of patient, including pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population. Provides patient care that meets the psychosocial and physical needs of the patient within the CNA's scope of practice. Assists with patient admissions, discharge and transfers. Provides morning care which may include bed bath, shower, whirlpool, oral hygiene, combing hair, back care, dressing patients, changing bed linen, straightening room and other general care as necessary throughout the shift. Provides evening care which includes hands/face washing as needed, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, freshening linen, straightening room and other general care as needed. Provides general nursing care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan, commode and ambulating patients. Prepares patients for meals; serves and removes food trays and assists with meals or feeds patients if necessary. Distributes drinking water and snacks to patients as applicable. Answers patients' call lights, anticipates patients' needs and makes rounds of assigned patients. Transports patients to various departments for ordered tests/procedures. Demonstrates the ability to perform procedures within the CNA scope of practice per state law. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure and intake-output. Reports patient complaint of pain to supervising licensed nurse. Observes patient's mental and physical conditions, reports any changes to supervising licensed nurse. Knowledgeable of sterile techniques and infection prevention and control procedures. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. Participates in patient care conferences. Communicates in a clear and concise manner to all medical staff. Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departments. Documentation meets current standards and policies. Attends in-service education programs, as assigned, to learn new treatments, procedures, developmental skills etc. Treat patient and families with respect and dignity. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department. Actively engage in quality improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Requirements Current CNA certification in the state of Idaho. Current BLS certificate. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic computer knowledge. Preferred Requirements High School graduate or equivalent. Previous experience in a long-term care setting. Additional languages preferred. Skills/Competencies Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic computer knowledge. Physical Requirements Perceive the nature of sounds by the ear, express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word, perceive characteristics of objects through the eyes, extend arms and hands in any direction, seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands, pick, pinch, or otherwise work with fingers, perceive such attributes of objects or materials as size, shape, temperature, or texture; and stoop, kneel crouch, and crawl. Must be able to lift 20 pounds minimum with frequent lifting, carrying pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Continuous walking and standing. Clinic CNA - Part Time - Day Shift

Description Job Summary The CNA is responsible for pleasant and effective communication with the public; and promoting a positive office image. This position is responsible for the rendering of basic supervised nursing care to patients in support of the Physicians and the Physician Assistants. This position maintains accurate and up-to-date filing of patient data within the clinic chart to allow efficient review on-demand. During patient office appointments, this position serves to maintain quality patient care. Shift expectation for this position is Monday from 8-5 and Friday from 8-5. Duties and Responsibilities · Primarily responsible for placing patient in the examination rooms and preparing patient for appointment. Takes and records routine elements of systemic reviews: elements of patient’s history, elements of present illness. Takes vital signs of the patient. · Updates and maintains medical records in preparation for patient appointment, and is responsible for routing incoming patient data to provider for evaluation/review, and to the Nurse for computerized update of clinical problem list. · Assists the Physician in procuring laboratory samples, per posted laboratory protocol. · May assist receptionist and professional nurse in locating records and answering telephone. Gathers details of incoming patient telephone calls and thoroughly; and accurately documents all such calls in patient chart for immediate physician review. · Make photocopies of records for consultations or referrals as directed by supervisor. · Helps to maintain inventory of necessary medical/examination supplies needed for each of the examination rooms. Restocking of examination rooms (per posted inventory list) will be done on a daily basis, more frequently as needed. Monitors for and removed outdated supplies. · Actively engage in quality improvement activities. · Straightens up examination rooms subsequent to patient examinations. Keeps instruments clean and ready for use. Prepares packs for sterilization. · Performs other duties as assigned by the Nurse, Physician or Physician Assistant.
