The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The Registered Nurse also may assume Charge Nurse Responsibilities as required. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; BSN preferred. Experience: One (1) year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred. Licensure: Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a registered nurse, or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN. Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth ad development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male and female children, adolescents and adults as well as dually diagnosed adults.
