What You Will Do: Provides direct care to patients under the supervision and delegation of the Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Physician within ProHealth Medical Group. Provides care in partnership with the patient and their family, with the goal of supporting an optimal healing community. Efficiently prepare exam rooms by setting up proper equipment and supplies, following standard rooming workflows to prepare patients for provider exams, obtaining vital signs, health history verification, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR Clean exam rooms after each patient visit and maintain sufficient stock of supplies. Answer patient calls, obtain medical information, report test results, administer medications and vaccinations, prepare sterile fields, and assist with procedures as directed by providers. Perform therapeutic treatments, health screenings, specimen collection, Point of Care testing, and assist with splints or wound care under supervision. Respond to urgent situations, call for clinical assistance as needed, and assist in maintaining clinic medications, vaccinations, supplies, and equipment. Reviews ATS for verification of hours worked. Works collaboratively with physicians to implement improvements within the practice to ensure a high caliber of patient care and services. Runs and analyzes report data as needed for compliance with quality initiatives and for operational decision support. Contributes to developing and attaining long range objectives for Primary Care including but not limited to financial goals, operations improvement, quality improvement, resource utilization and clinical practice enhancements. Recruits, hires, trains and develops clinical staff in conjunction with Human Resources and the Practice Manager. Provides and creates an awareness of professional activities available for staff development. Participates in the preparation of detailed operating budget projections for staff, supplies and equipment. Participates in the analysis of financial data to determine problem areas, potential savings and ways to reduce operating costs and maximizing charge capture. About the unit: We are a 29 bed inpatient Medical & Surgical unit. The surgical population of this unit would mainly include: orthopedics and spine surgeries. This unit presents a great opportunity to see a variety of patients with acute care needs. We have designated Charge Nurses on the unit. A typical Staff RN would have 1:4-5 ratio during the day and 1:5-6 at night. We would typically staff 4 NA’s during the day and 3 at night. New staff members are partnered with a preceptor and mentor to help acclimate them to the unit. Assisting with survey activities to ensure that the facility maintains accreditation, certification and licensure. Assisting with monthly interdisciplinary QAPI team meetings. Assisting with reviews of quarterly quality improvement reports. We Are Hiring: Registered Nurse (RN) - Oconomowoc Med/Surg 0.7 FTE (Nights) We are seeking compassionate and professional staff members to join the medical, surgical and orthopedic unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital! Our second floor unit includes an Orthopedic Center for Excellence with a 24 bed unit focusing on for total hip, shoulder and knee replacements patients and cares for orthopedic fractures. We also serve a small medical population. Our three south unit includes an 11 bed unit with medical patients and general surgical patients. These patients include: sepsis, cardiac, stroke, renal, CHF, COPD, respiratory illnesses. The surgical population includes appendectomy, small bowel obstructions and various other surgeries. The Medical Surgical Unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital is focused on the needs of the patient and helping one another to meet those needs. Our patient management on both units may include telemetry monitoring, continuous medication infusions, wounds, varieties of tubes and drains. There are approximately 60 staff members that include experienced and newer staff including, CNA’s, RN’s, and Unit Clerks.
