Job Description Summary: Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. (Department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365). The RN accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. We care for our patients 24 hours per day, 7 days per week rotating 12-hour days and nights. (APPs who join our team are expected to work a portion of nights throughout the year based on operational need, and rotational and nocturnal allowances are paid for working these variant schedules). APPs are responsible for all primary patient management including, but not limited to pre-rounding, daily multidisciplinary rounds/care planning, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging studies, prescribing medications and treatments, and evaluating for treatment responses. We are also responsible for writing admission orders, documenting admissions to the hospital, discharging patients, and managing all changes in clinical status. We collaborate closely with Oncology Hospitalists and Medical Oncologists. We also provide care on the solid tumor oncology treatment service, managing patients on inpatient chemotherapy and clinical trials. Acute Care/Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification or Physician Assistant Certification are preferred. Adult or Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioners with robust inpatient care experience will also be considered.
