ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinating with the Administrator to recruit and select nursing staff Reviewing scheduling and staffing to ensure daily PPD requirements are met Working with DSD in monitoring the in-service trainings Providing assistance to nursing staff when needed (including admissions, med pass and wound care) Making written and verbal recommendations to the Administrator as needed concerning the operations of the nursing department Maintaining and updating the policies and procedures that govern the daily functions of the nursing department Developing and conducting performance evaluations for annual reviews of nursing staff Reviewing residents discharge plans Making rounds Assisting in surveys (inspections); and following up with corrective measures Monitoring the facility’s QI and survey reports Reviewing complaints and grievances made or filed by staff, residents or third parties Reporting occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals as required by state and federal law Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords Keeping abreast of new state and federal regulations as they pertain to skilled nursing Attending meetings and serving on committees Complying with annual facility in-service training programs Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Answering call lights Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy Making residents comfortable (putting them in bed, bringing them water, etc.) Assisting in feeding residents (by cutting their food and spoon feeding if needed) Helping residents with their daily grooming, shower or sponge bath Proper lifting and transitioning residents from wheelchair to bed, bed to chair, etc. Helping residents, sit, stand and walk Transporting residents to dining area (for meals and activities) and returning them to their room Timely reporting of change in residents condition to the Nurse Supervisor Protecting each residents file and data with confidentially per HIPAA standards Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords Following Infection and Control policies Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately Other duties as assigned Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary. Additional Details Shift: Thursday & Friday and every other Sat & Sun. Time: 3pm-11:30 pm. Additional evening and night shift differentials. Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
