Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The RN is responsible for managing patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures; performs the primary function of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, guiding, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients. The RN provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Assessments related to specific conditions, therapies and interventions are required. The RN shall oversee and guide nursing employees that are under their supervision. Responsible for interaction with hospital staff and/or ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts with identification and assistance in resolutions. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: RN Seasonal Special Event staff may not have worked for any UHS facility for the past 3 months (90 days); RN Seasonal Special Event staff will be required to have a minimum of two years of recent relevant acute care experience on a full-time basis or 4 years on a part-time basis; RN Seasonal Special Event staff will be required to float to other areas where they are deemed competent to work; RN Seasonal Special Event staff will be required to be available to work at least 4 full week-end shifts per month as needed by the hospital. Week-ends are defined as beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. and ending on Monday at 7 a.m.; RN Seasonal Special Event staff will be required to be available to work 1 holiday per quarter as assigned by the facility which may include Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and Easter or any other holiday designated by FDRMC if applicable; Benefits: As a Seasonal RN you are not eligible for flexible benefits, paid time off or extended leave back accruals. Maintain accurate and complete medical records using web-based electronic medical records system. Active LVN License. Current BLS Certification. Valid Driver's License and Vehicle Insurance. Responsibilities The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their unit. This Supervisor must ensure timely, safe, compassionate care for all patients of the Med-surg/Tele department. Assists in the Education of the Med-surg/Tele staff. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1) Oversees that all staff members carry out their duties safely, timely, compassionately and efficiently including providing patient care directly as necessary.* 2) Directly communicates with physicians and other members of management to resolve conflict or other issues quickly and effectively.* 3) Responsible for timely evaluation, coaching, educating and counseling of all staff members: acting as mentor and role model and coordinating unit on-boarding process for new staff.* * Collaborate with Director and Charge Nurses to access and determine educational need of unit staff; * work with Facility Educator to coordinate and present need education* 4) Assist in preparing and adhering to annual department budget. 5) Responsible for maintaining a risk free environment on their unit as well as ongoing performance improvement.* *Review nursing documentation to ensure compliance with core measure and best practice standards.* * Assist with required TJC and Unit metric audits * Active participation in unit and unit leader meeting to insure open communication* 6) Coordinate and Leader Unit Safety Huddles* 7) Functions as back up to Director as needed.* 8) Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Texas RN License Previous charge or supervisory preferred BLS and ACLS required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Education: Graduate of a state approved school of professional nursing practice. Maintains current licensure in the State of Texas. BSN preferred.
