Resposibilties The CNA maintains a "homelike environment for the residents, protects and promotes Resident Rights and assists the person to maintain independence and control to the greatest extent possible. Provides direct care to residents to improve or maintain the resident’s abilities Follows all facility policies and procedures including those related to infection control. Records accurate, legible information about resident care and condition in appropriate sections of residents’ records. Communicates with Unit Charge Nurse about assigned residents regularly throughout shift. Monitors physical environment for safety or fire hazards and corrects or reports potential problems 
Assists the RN by performing patient care activities delegated to the unlicensed nursing support staff as well as additional specific functions for which he/she has been prepared. Incorporates the concepts of the Hospital's Customer Service Program into all aspects of patient care activities. Accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Trade School Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Program or current Nursing student with satisfactory completion of at least one clinical rotation Required or Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required Experience 1 year experience in a Nursing Assistant role Preferred Licenses Basic Life Support Required
