Job Summary: Summary The RN is an essential member of the Patient Care Team who is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit. The RN delegates those interventions that may be performed by others, supervises as appropriate, assists in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care, provides education to patients, and families, and collaborates with other health professionals in the planning and management of health care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry. • Renders professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital and carries out orders placed by the provider responsible for the patient’s medical care. Provides comprehensive clinical documentation including care plans each shift. • Seeks feedback regarding practice and takes actions as appropriate. • Communicates patient information appropriate for continuity and safe care through Bedside shift reports, Multidisciplinary rounds, and Hourly Rounding (AIDET) • Compliant in achieving unit-specific competencies and requirements. • Documentation reflects the changes in patient condition, care given and response to care given.
