Job Summary and Qualifications The Nurse Extern PRN will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), and assist the nursing staff in providing patient care. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." What you will do in this role: Follows all hospital safety procedures including universal precautions, operating equipment and use of proper body mechanics. Demonstrates proficiency in department procedures including stress testing, holter monitors, transesophageal echocardiograms, direct current cardioversions, and cardiopulmonary stress tests and Linq insertion. Completes mandatory hospital and department competencies as assigned. Participates in department CQI activities. Able to administer conscious sedation in minimal lighting for TEE/CV procedures.
