Employment Type: Part time Shift: Night Shift Description: Position Purpose: The St. Mary’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides a individualized, compassionate healing environment by caring for patients ranging from critically ill premature infants to full-term infants with minor illnesses. What you will do: Our highly trained team attends every C-Section and high-risk delivery and commonly treats respiratory distress, sepsis (overwhelming infections), hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and complications of prematurity. The expert care provided by St. Mary’s NICU allows families to keep their babies close by and in the same building as the Family Birth Center. Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise. RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care. The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards. Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
